i swallowed a bug

i go to aberdeen university, scotland. i am in my fourth year and studying international relations and politics. i really dig it. just now i'm doing modern day latin america and my dissertation (which is on the pakistan intelligence service. uh huh). i used to play in a band called cap santé!. we did the whole 90's indiemo thing and then died. i now play in a pretend slowmo band that will never see light of day. i sometimes write articles for the student paper. not many people read it. i like skyscrapers, drinking water, cycling, books, pecan nuts, traveling (especially on trains abroad), singing, sleeping, polite girls, fog/mist, cold weather, the way mist sits on the tops of trees, warm weather, christmas, detective stories, lighting matches, eating out when its cheap, eating out when its expensive, autumn, wood chippings, coffee scented candles, earl grey tea, american apparel, striking things off lists, the cinema, apple mac, the wire, soup, chunky bread (preferably with soup), fingerless gloves, cosy jumpers, gatefold vinyl, film cameras, organisation, the internet. find me here;

love / hate relationship with this video (and band). i get the impression that 90% of everyone in it would really really really annoy me in real life…but it is such a pretty video. and the song. over hyped - yeah yeah, but the second half of it never bores me. e.p.i.c.

SO TODAY I

so today i went into town cos i got these 30% GAP vouchers. i don’t usually shop in GAP cos their clothes are pretty $$$ most of the time and they’re all made by kids in the third world…but surely a 30% off voucher provides an exception? probably not, no, but i donate to oxfam every month so i’m only trying to even the playing field. i found a pretty rad deep RED jumper with nice stitching so i bought that (ONLY £17!!!!1111). but now i realise another reason i don’t buy in GAP - their sizing suxks. i got it in small which is fine in the arms and front but its a little too short at the back. AT THE BACK. i like my jumpers roomy and cosy and this just won’t do. gonna swing past tomorrow again but i fear a medium will be too big overall. ENOUGH fashion talk! i got served by a wonderfully pretty grrl. GAP only employ pretty grrls. she looked like a young charlotte gainsbourg with curly hair and FRECKLES. oh dear oh dear. anyway. then i went to a coffee shop and got a carry out but nearly stayed in on my own because they were playing boxer by THE NATIONAL and i love that record so much.

now i need to go back to reading about the DEBT CRISIS in latin american. exchange rates, deficits, structural adjustments, GDPs and whatever else i don’t understand at all. i’m not an ECONOMIST.

i would just like this but there are several things that need to be said:

- 1 sweater red
- charlotte gainsbourg lookalikes <33333
- I ALSO STAY IN STORES EVEN WHEN I HAVE ALREADY MADE PURCHASES BECAUSE GOOD SONGS COME ON. I ALSO DANCE AND WHISTLE ALONG.
- economics SUCKS

you got a new tumblr i see huh. ok - you like teh red sweater? deep red sweater? “At the age of 13 charlotte gainsbourg recorded a duet with her father, Serge Gainsbourg, called “Lemon Incest”, which featured on Serge’s 1984 album “Love on the beat”. The song raised a lot of controversy”. what a girl. i’m not sure i would dance. i would maybe whistle but not if i was on my own. i do shuffle/toe tap - this is what i did today. but nothing that would draw too much attention. i don’t want to be that guy, ya know? economics does suck. luckily it is only a small part of the course so i can hopefully just ignore it come exams time.

i miss ireland for many reasons, but this television show is definitely one of them.

greatest television show ever.

more like most annoying television program ever. cue hundreds of on the verge self conscious self deprecating teenagers that prefer to read books/listen to a record/drink coffee/talk about the world, think they are ‘not normal’ because they don’t intake copious amount of alcohol and drugs, smoke, have an apathetic attitude towards education and always appear to be having some sort of breakdown because their life is so much more complicated and meaningful than everyone else. no thank you.
