what what what. everything’s gone all 2002 and i feel so old. i used to listen to this song on repeat for weeks.
i still dig out this album every now and again. this song rules so hard.
SERIOUSLY. THIS SONG. i’ve listened to it about 12 times in a row now. high school is coming flooding back. l remember being all like ‘WOW HOUSE SHOW!’ and totally fancying the girl in the video and then doing invisible guitar rock out to the riff and shouting THHHHHEEE BBBLLLLAAAAMMMEEE WWWAASSSS FFFOOUUNNNDD while wearing my green shirt with the album cover on it. oh man.
I HAD THE SAME SHIRT. except mine was blue and the cover was in yellow instead of in white, but i wish i had gotten the green one.
cap sante bassist used to have the blue one! i remember seeing it on his washing line and being SO HAPPY. feeling = content. THANKS WALTER!

The Tumblr Backup app is ready for its first beta testing.
- Download (Mac OS X, requires 10.5 or higher)
Unlike other publishing sites’ approach to backups, our goal was to create a useful copy of your blog’s content that can be viewed on any computer, burned to a CD, or hosted as an archive of static HTML files.
Wherever possible, we use simple file formats. Our backup structure is optimized for Mac OS X’s Spotlight for searching and Quick Look for browsing, and we’ll try to use the same structure and achieve the same benefits on other platforms.
Release notes:
- Sorry, there’s no Windows version yet.
- The output is minimally styled in a plain theme to ensure complete backups, zero external requirements, and a consistent data structure. Custom theme code is included in the backup as a separate file.
- To view the backup in a browser, open the
index.htmlfile.- Photosets are not yet fully downloaded. (Next version.)
- The following are not backed up:
- Private tumblelogs
- Submissions
- Notes
- Feed-imported posts
- Audio files from reblogged posts
- You can launch the app every few days and re-run the backup in the same place, and it effectively performs an incremental media backup: image and audio files are only re-downloaded if they don’t already exist in the target folder. Text content and post data are re-downloaded in full every time.
- If you have private posts, be careful if you make the backup publicly available. Private posts are included in a
privatefolder, and their images or audio files are included in the standardimagesandaudiofolders.- Are you a programmer? Each post’s XML data, as specified by our API, is embedded inside an easily-parsed-out HTML comment in each post’s HTML file, in case you want to do anything cool with it.
To report bugs, email me. Thanks.
cool.
so we’ve been working on some clicky ambient stuff for a while now but andrew hasn’t been round so much lately so i’ve been slowly putting this track together over the last few days (when i’ve not had my head in my dissertation). i’m as yet unsure about what i think. we’re planning to hopefully finish a bunch of tracks into the new and ‘do something’ with it. whether this (or a version of this) will be on it i don’t know…so i feel fine uploading it here. if you dig fuzzy slow burning ambient stuff ala fennesz or mountains maybe give this a listen and let me know what you think? thank you.
i dig it! but i literally could drag the slider to any point on the timeline and you wouldn’t have known i’d have done so. maybe i’m just not a very perceptive listener or maybe that’s what you get when you go for the whole fuzzy ambient thing though, i dunno. i guess whether you like it depends on whether you’re someone who shops on boomkat regularly or not, but i guess you can say that for just about anything except y’know, replace boomkat with some other stereotype of that ‘scene’.
definitely. it is by far the most repetitive thing i’ve done, and the other pieces we’ve done together have much more variation. i do quite like repetition when it comes to this type of fuzz though. i like to think of the track as this one big WAVE or something, ya know, with subtle changes that just…drift by. i think it would lose its effect if there was too much chopping and changing, ken? but i do totally understand what yr saying. for someone that doesn’t dig this type of thing it would be a total snooze-fest. oh, and thank you!
i was totally gonna say that it’s like being lost at sea on an OCEAN OF STATIC but i didn’t wanna sound like a pitchfork review so i left it alone
AN OCEAN OF STATIC lol. exactly. i will release 3inch cd-rs under that name and talk about myself in the third person.
